Overview:

The tree grows with a finely fibrous or box type, grey bark throughout.. Tuart timber is heavy, strong and straight, and has been used as a building material for railway wagons. It is drought resistant and moderately salt tolerant, though needing protection from frost when young. Min rainfall: 450mm
