Product Description

The tree grows from 12 to 40m high, with a finely fibrous or box type, grey bark throughout. From north of Perth near Yanchep in WA, southward to near Busselton, the tuart grows in limestone areas. Tuart timber is heavy, strong and straight, and has been used as a building material for railway wagons. It is drought resistant and moderately salt tolerant, though needing protection from frost when young. Flowers open in March and April, a year after the buds form. Recommended as a tall shade tree or street tree and is used in areas with a minimum of about 450mm rainfall annually.; Min rainfall: 450mm
